Active Projects
One of the largest single developments in Willow Park's history. A mixed-use planned development along the IH-20 / FM 1187 corridor. The Aledo ISD and City of Fort Worth have filed a lawsuit against Willow Park challenging aspects of the annexation and development agreement.
An ~82-acre residential development at the northeast corner of Crown Road and Meadow Place Drive, north of The Shops at Willow Park. Targeted for ~450 homes by Clearion Development Properties (developer: Skorburg Development Company / Brothers In Christ Properties), with a 17-acre dedicated green space planned to become a city park. Of the total tract, 61.4 acres were annexed March 24, 2026; the remainder was already inside the city limits. Council approved the PD/CL rezoning and the preliminary plat on April 29, 2026.
A commercial development on 7.29 acres at the northwest corner of East Bankhead Highway and Torri Court, owned by Bar-Ko Land Company LLC. The Weatherford Democrat has reported Bar-Ko is in discussions with Tractor Supply Co. for the site. The property is now both within city limits and zoned "C" Commercial; site plan and building permit work can proceed.
The Willow Springs Oak Shopping Center requested a Specific Use Permit to convert an existing static sign to an electronic digital message sign. Digital signs require an SUP under Willow Park's ordinances. Questions were raised at the public hearing by Bill Green and Libby Afflerbach. Council approved the SUP at the March 24 meeting.
A property owner at 6603 Bankhead Highway sought to rezone 0.80 acres from R-1 Single-Family to a business district. Council denied the first request on March 24 because blanket "C" Commercial zoning would allow any type of commercial use. Council directed that a more narrowly-tailored request come back through P&Z. The new "LR" Local Retail request — a more restricted commercial class — passed unanimously on April 29.
Trinity Christian Academy requested a Specific Use Permit to update an existing pole sign to an Electronic, Informative Digital Message Sign. This followed the same SUP process the Willow Springs Oak shopping center went through in March. Council approved the SUP unanimously on April 29.
Tabled / On Hold
A request to rezone approximately 6 acres in the Fawcett Addition for multifamily use. The item was tabled at the February 24 meeting after significant public opposition from neighboring residents. No return date has been confirmed.
How this tracker works
This page is updated after every City Council and Planning & Zoning meeting. Timelines reflect official action dates from meeting minutes and agenda packets — not announcements. All reports are sourced from the Municode agenda system. If you believe a project is missing or incorrect, subscribe and let us know.
